Tips and recommendations for kayaking on Lobos Island
- To kayak on the island of Lobos you have two options: catamaran from the Corralejo pier to the coast of the islet, which has the advantage of being able to do water activities such as kayaking, snorkelling or paddle surfing further from the coast; or kayaking from one of the beaches of Corralejo to the islet, enjoying the views of Fuerteventura, Lobos and Lanzarote and snorkelling on the island of Lobos itself.
- The duration of the kayak tour can vary between 4, 5 and 6 hours, depending on the option you choose and the paddling pace. It is advisable to book in advance and bring comfortable clothes, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and water.
- The temperature in Fuerteventura is usually warm and dry throughout the year, with an average of 21°C. The water temperature varies between 18°C and 23°C depending on the season. You can rent a wetsuit if you wish for an additional fee.
- The water conditions are usually calm and crystal clear, ideal for kayaking and snorkelling. However, there may be days with more wind or current, so it is important to follow the guide’s instructions and wear the appropriate safety equipment.
- Once on the island of Lobos you can enjoy its white sandy beaches, its marine and terrestrial fauna, its fishermen’s cottages and its volcanic landscape. If I were you I would take a waterproof camera or a waterproof case for your mobile and capture the most beautiful moments.
