Tips for kayaking in Fuerteventura
- Check the weather: Before you jump into the sea it is good to check the wind and tides of the spot you choose. This way you can be sure of calm waters with better visibility if you want to snorkel.
- Protect yourself from the sun: Bear in mind that the sun is going to hit you hard. Apply sunscreen and consider wearing a hat and/or sunglasses.
- Protect your things from water: Because they will get wet for sure. Buy a waterproof case for your mobile phone and take photos or videos without fear.
- Bring water: Being thirsty in the middle is something I don’t recommend. Take at least a large bottle of water. If you also want to do some walking, you can also bring something to snack on such as fruit or a sandwich.
- Bring snorkelling goggles: You only need snorkelling goggles to enjoy the spectacular seabed and meet the fauna of the area. I recommend that you always take them with you on your routes.
- Respect the ecosystem: Don’t litter or bother animals. It’s that simple and important at the same time.
