The canyon is surrounded by impressive basalt walls over 400 metres high. The trail is of high difficulty, with steep slopes and is not suitable for people with vertigo.

The escape to the road takes about 15 minutes. Some points of interest are the Mirador de Hilda and the Galería Madre del Agua. Canyoning equipment is necessary, including 60 m and 30 m ropes. The anchorages are usually in good condition. The canyon is located within the Teno Rural Park and it is recommended to request authorisation from the Cabildo of Tenerife.
