The difficulty is low, with abseils of less than 20 metres, and the descent takes about 4 hours to complete. Recommended for beginners.

The Barranco de los Carrizales canyon is located in the Teno Rural Park, in Buenavista del Norte, Tenerife. It is a water canyon of medium level on the descent and high level on the return. The canyon is surrounded by impressive basalt walls over 400 metres high. The trail is of high difficulty, with steep slopes and is not suitable for people with vertigo.

It is a medium-difficulty canyon that can be done both dry and with water during the rainy season. The estimated duration of the descent is approximately 4 hours. The canyon has a beautiful riverbed surrounded by laurel forest and offers several rappels, including a 20-metre and a 50-metre rappel. In rainy seasons, there may be waterfalls and small pools.

It is recommended to do the descent with experienced guides and to have the necessary equipment.

The ravine is of medium difficulty and its duration is variable. The access from La Vica to the head of the ravine is approximately 1.2 km, and the descent takes between 1.30 and 2 hours. The escape to the road takes about 15 minutes. Some points of interest are the Mirador de Hilda and the Galería Madre del Agua. Canyoning equipment is necessary, including 60 m and 30 m ropes. The anchorages are usually in good condition. The canyon is located within the Teno Rural Park and it is recommended to request authorisation from the Cabildo of Tenerife.
